HP Pavilion x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-er0000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

Back in December 2021, I purchased a custom-built HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 15-er0000 notebook from HP. About a month after receiving the laptop, I began having intermittent issues with the trackpad, where every once in awhile, the left click would not work, and I would have to restart my computer to fix the problem. It began happening so frequently that I decided to send the laptop in for repair. HP ended up replacing the SSD and reinstalling the OS, and told me that the issue was fixed, but when I got the repaired notebook back, the issue was still there! So I decided to get a replacement. I received the same notebook with the same custom features on March 7, 2022. I immediately had issues with the laptop, where the trackpad would click when I would rest my hand on the plastic covering to the right of the trackpad. This issue has seemed to lessen and go away with time, but now, all of a sudden, I am having the same intermittent trackpad issue that I was having on my old system! The left click just stops working suddenly, and I do not understand what could be causing this. It seems strange that two completely different notebooks would be having the exact same issue. Could this be an issue with the software I have installed? Could it be an issue with Windows 11? Has anybody else had an issue with the trackpad on this specific model? HP offered to send me another replacement notebook, but before I tell them yes, I would like to figure out what is going on and if it is something that I am doing or something that I can fix myself! Thanks so much!

I see you are experiencing Trackpad issues with the HP Pavilion X360 Laptop PC. I apologize for the Inconvenience.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
