After trial and error, I have come to realize my trackpad is dysfunctional and causing sporadic clicking on my screen. I am now using an external mouse so that the laptop still is usable but would like to fix the initial problem, especially because this was not a cheap laptop. That said, I sent my laptop in for repairs while it was under warranty but the same issues are still occurring and it is now out of warranty. I am wondering if it can still be fixed without cost because the initial fix didn't actually fix my problem? I am a college student and heavily rely on my laptop for homework, especially during COVID.

@GraceAnne Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are facing issues with the touchpad.
In that case, I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
