Product: Hp envy touch smart 17-j037cl
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have purchase a ddr3 ram upgrade for my laptop but it causes the computer to crash and throws errors in ram check program. The computer works fine if the original 4gb ddr3 is installed. What are the exact specs of ram needed (speed, voltage, etc) that are compatible with my laptop.  I’d like to max the computer with 16gb of ram.

Since they guarantee compatibility, you may want to purchase a 16 GB kit from them.

You can also do a search by the kit part number and see if you can get it cheaper on Amazon or New Egg.
