can anyone tell me which one mine is please and thank you i figured it out while back brains shot i dont remember how i figured it out last time any help is appreciated i want to upgrade to 16gb if possible 32

Hi:

Based on the link you posted, your notebook has the Intel UMA graphics.

UMA = Unified Memory Architecture.  UMA graphics share the system memory with the rest of the PC.

Discrete graphics: That would be the notebooks that come with the Nvidia graphics adapter which has its own dedicated memory.

The thing that I don't understand is:

If the models with the discrete graphics memory have one slot and the slot can support 1 x 16 GB of memory, why can't the models with two memory slots also support a 16 GB memory chip in each slot?

I think it could.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

The Crucial memory report indicates your notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

This would be the 32 GB kit I recommend for your notebook.

I don't recommend the performance memory because your notebook uses standard memory with the standard timing specs.

Performance memory has faster timing specs and if your notebook can't automatically adjust to the faster timing, it either will not boot up or you may have performance issues (Blue Screens of Death).

Thanks for the help i really appreciate it i have no clue how i found it months ago i really appreciate it hopefully next couple months ill be able to get it i just wanted to get pricing for when time comes to order so i can have everything set up thanks very much

is the dv0065st the same as dv0165st

Hi:

For the purpose of upgrading the memory, the 14-dv0065st has the same Intel graphics, would use the same memory as the first model you posted.

There may be subtle differences between the two models, but looking at the major hardware they appear to be exactly the same.
