HP Envy x360 -15-bp103na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have just purchased an HP Envy x360 convertible from John Lewis. Advertised spec is i7-8550U with Turbo Boost Technology.

I can't see anywhere that the Turbo Boost Technology is being activated - does anyone have any ideas about how to activate it, or check it is working.

Nothing obvious in the BIOS

HP website does not seem to give any clues.

Thanks

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I understand you need information on using the turbo boost technology,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you read about the turbo boot program?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:

Intel® Turbo Boost Technology (TBT) is one of the features built into latest-generation Intel micro architecture.

It automatically allows processor cores to run faster than the base operating frequency if it's operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

Thanks @Riddle_Decipher I have read that information. The turbo boost tool is no longer downloadable. I'm trying to understand if I need to make any changes to my bios to activate tbt or if it is automatic. In the bios it says nothing about tbt and just gives processor speed of 1.8 mph.

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

As mentioned in the article, did you check or determine if your device was sent with the Turbo Boost functionality, using the "Identify my product" option under the Intel website?

Use this link for details mentioned using this article: http://hp.care/2FVgdUV

If the options to activate or use it is unavailable, it would mean that the device is not shipped with the turbo boost feature and hence I recommend you Contact HP to identify the reason for the same and sort it out.

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

* Open link:  http://hp.care/2moMFSc

* Enter Product number or select to auto detect

* Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

* Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get a Case & phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

If you would like to thank me for my efforts to help you,

feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on the "Accept as solution".

Have a great day!
