The LED light remains on when the laptop is placed in sleep mode. This not only drains the battery, but is a constant distraction at night. Is is possible to disable the LED light on the Power button?

@Dhaddad Greetings from the HP Community!

I'm afraid the only way you can turn off the LED of the power button is by switching your device off,

besides, its safe to keep the device turned off when not in use as it save power and cools down after a hard day of work.

I hope that answers your query,

I really see this as a defect. The operating system shipped with the laptop has sleep option , but this clearly is not compatible with the HP hardware as the led stays on and drains the battery. Security signon is not an issue as you athenticate when you take the laptop out of sleep mode.

@Dhaddad The amount of battery an LED would take is extremely low, in fact it doesn't make any noticeable difference! the only thing that would drain the battery in a large amount is the display, which is why its recommended to turn off the device when not in use, this isn't a defect, its just the way all notebooks are designed, regardless of the brand.

I hope you understand.
