How to turn off the screen manually without putting machine to sleep? Second question: is that necessary? Because I can easily switch screen brigthness 100 to 0 and back. How much more energy is used in this scenario compared to completely turning the screen off?

Hi AthleticOula,
Unlike Macs, Windows PCs can't fully turn off displays when the brightness is at 0%. Sleeping will save much more power since the computer is literally "sleeping" and components do not drain power.
If you want to, you can program the power button to only turn off the screen - not sleep.
- Open Control Panel
- Navigate to Hardware and Sound
- Select Power options
- Select Choose what the power buttons do on the left side
- Choose Turn off the display for When I press the power button
You can then also adjust sleep timer settings.
Hope this helps,
