Hello,

I have two of the same laptops and each of them failed the same way. They both turned off and the screens are black and the caps lock button is blinking. When I did a search online, I found a fix that required me to visit the HP site and download a BIOS file. I tried to download the bios file on both a Mac and a Dell computer this weekend. Each attempt to obtain the file from the HP website resulted in an error message that read, “ failed extract cab.” so I did some research and I attempted to work around the error message i.e. changing the file type to SP15261.EXE. no matter what I did, I could not get the file to download/install. I believe something is wrong with the file they have online. How do I get a better link to this file? The model number for one laptop is 5CD038776P and the number for the other laptop is 5CD038521Z. I also tried to do a factory reset where you push the windows and B key followed by the power button this did nothing for either computer. Thank you in advance for your help.
