Type c chip inside burnt

The USB Type-C port on my laptop (HP Pavilion 15-eg2034tx, motherboard DAG7HEMB8F0 REV: F) has a burnt IC controller chip and is completely non-functional. Is it possible to repair this issue, and if so, which specific component/IC needs to be replaced?

Before the failure, the laptop screen and external monitor both flickered continuously whenever I connected them via the Type-C port. However, plugging in the barrel jack AC adapter immediately stopped the flickering. After using it like this for a while, the Type-C IC chip suddenly burnt out one day right when I connected the laptop to the external monitor.

How should this issue be handled, and what is the proper repair procedure?"

• Continuous flickering of both the internal display and external monitor when using the USB Type-C connection may indicate an issue within the USB Type-C power delivery, DisplayPort Alt Mode, or related power regulation circuitry.
• The fact that connecting the barrel-jack AC adapter immediately stopped the flickering suggests there may have been a power delivery or voltage regulation issue associated with the Type-C subsystem.
• If the Type-C controller IC has visibly burnt, additional components in the surrounding circuit may also have been affected, including power MOSFETs, ESD protection devices, voltage regulators, or PCB traces.

Dear Hawks_Eye,

My Laptop still has not yet solved since it has to check and repair by specialist.

Although Laptop us using and connected to external monitor via HDMI, and all function of Laptop is runing properly, except type c and other related to Displayport alt mode/ power delivery.

I will reply to you after I bring it ot repair service
