Hello: I need basic info from an expert about the 3 types of USB ports on the HP Envy.  The service manual shows this description of port types:

PORTS ON HP ENVY.png

However, my USB ports look slightly different than what the manual shows;  there are 2 on the RIGHT side and one on the left side.

In any case, can all of these ports be used to attach and use external hard drives without any issues?  The manual shows there should be two type A USB ports and 1 type C port, but I can't distinguish them, and I am trying to assess whether it's fine to plug in and use regular Samsung external hard drives with all 3 USB ports.

Thank you and please be kind; I'm a longtime hardware user but absolutely not a technical expert.

I have been using the right

Yes, but you would be better off using either of the ports on the  left side,

the USB Type-C Gen 3 Thunderbolt port port would be the best case for an external disk.

You can also use the other ports, but they will have higher latency during data transfer.
