After I noticed an issue in getting my USB devices to work, I dig a little digging and found the error message below with respect to the USB drive. I have reason to believe this happened after a recent update. It won't let me "roll back" the drivers. I've uninstalled, re-installed the USB connector managers, ticked the box so that windows doesn't automatically shut down the usb driver, etc., set it back to a recovery point, re-installed the BIOS, all to no avail. I know there's a charge, for example, when I plug in a USG digital camera or headphones, but these devices won't activate.
Am I looking at structural damage here?
This may be related to a battery/power issue, but I'm not certain.
I saw that someone re-installed Windows the last time and that worked -- but as an amateur (some of the language might as well be Klingon to me), I'm a little reluctant to take that step
This is maddening, since a few weeks ago, everything was working fine. I noticed that others had this problem a few years ago -- is it recurring for anyone else in the April 2025 timeframe, especially with respect to a windows update?
I'm on the verge of ordering a new computer, as estimated repair costs are more than twice the computer's value.
Please help. Thank you.
