Thanks for the reply, may I know the product number of your computer?
If you are unable to install Windows 7, may I know the exact error code?
If you are using the recovery kit created on your computer and unable to install Windows 7, please reset the BIOS to default. Change system date to 2012, disable to secure boot and enable legacy boot and save the changes and exit. Insert the recovery kit and keep tapping F9 on startup to try the recovery process again.
If the issue persists, please contact our phone support for further assistance.
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Please give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accepted Solution" and "Kudos" buttons,

Good Luck.

Hi!
I have the same problem with the CSO number.
"This tool is intended for use by HP Authorized Service Personnel and Self Maintainers only."
SELF MAINTAINERS? If they cant use is, how to use it?
So anybody can tell that CSO number is important? Or use 1234?
Thanks for the reply

Found this:
https://www.landontechnologies.com/blog/hp-diagnostics-cso-number/
CSO - Customer Service Order number?
Simply use 1234 for CSO and Agent number...
I tried it and it worked.
update - ESC also works, not necessary enter numbers

Thanks for that Blacksnow. Having read your message I tried again but, on this occasion it didn't ask for either and I was able to run tests which gave me a hard drive failure. This disappointed me, as my Energy Star laptop is not two years old and has not been damaged.

Mr. Chimney_83 and Resolv_S, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent responses were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought out answer. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Finally, read a sane answer. LoL
3lacksnow is correct. 1234 for both CSO and Agent should work.
Just nursing a headache now from reading absolutely useless posts from a couple of insane people. They should be kicked out of these forums. At least I wish an admin will delete their posts. What a waste of time.
