Hi @kirtop,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you so much for reaching out with your interest in exploring your HP Pavilion Laptop’s deeper system options.
We truly appreciate your curiosity — it’s always wonderful to see users eager to learn and make the most of their devices. The BIOS/UEFI setup on your Pavilion 15-eh0090wm does provide essential, accessible settings like boot options, security configurations, and virtualisation controls.
However, we’d like to gently share that advanced BIOS functions — such as voltage adjustments, fan profiles, or deeper system tuning — are not available on HP consumer-class PCS like the Pavilion series. These settings are carefully hidden by design to ensure your laptop remains stable, safe, and protected under its warranty.
I hope this answers your question on the BIOS Advanced feature.
Take care and have a good day.

I want to open advanced options in my HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eh0090wm, with BIOS version F.30, I have UEFI, but it calls itself BIOS inside, but there are functions from UEFI, in short, a hybrid BIOS, so, help me open Advanced Options or Advansed Mod there, I need it mostly just like that, but if there is something useful for my situation, I will look myself, I don’t have such a situation, but maybe there will be something useful for me

Hi @kirtop,
Thank you for getting back.
The beep you’re hearing is the system’s built-in speaker acknowledging that it received an unsupported or special combination at a time it wasn’t ready for it, kind of like knocking on a locked door.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I'm fine, thanks, by the way, I have another question, I lost my question about the cursor during the BIOS update (or is it just my UEFI), I'll ask here, why did I have a cursor during the update? I'm just wondering why it's available during the BIOS update, but it's not in the menu itself

Hi @kirtop,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for the clarification!
So, on your HP Notebook, when you saw a cursor during the BIOS (or UEFI) update, that was due to HP using a graphical firmware update environment, which is separate from the normal BIOS/UEFI setup screen.
Here’s why you had a mouse cursor during the update:
- HP BIOS updates often load a small GUI (graphical user interface) that includes mouse support. This interface is built into the update utility — either run from Windows or initiated on reboot.
- It’s not the standard BIOS setup menu, but rather a temporary environment with additional drivers (like mouse support).
- It allows for easier navigation and displays progress bars, status messages, or even terms and conditions.
Why does the normal BIOS setup (F10 menu) doesn't have a cursor?
- It’s a low-level environment, optimized for universal compatibility across all types of keyboards and screens.
- HP (and most OEMs) design this menu to be keyboard-only, with no need for a cursor.
- Adding mouse support would complicate firmware and increase the risk of bugs or compatibility issues.
So it’s completely normal to see a cursor during an update, but not in the regular BIOS menu.
Let me know if you want help checking whether your firmware is up to date or have more BIOS-related questions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
