I wish to upgrade the storage and RAM, but this model does not have an EMMC drive, and only has one RAM slot. The SSD is a SKHYNIX H26M74002HMR chip. This is 64GB and I want at least 128GB. Please advise upgrade part numbers and availability. Thanks.

Its an eMMC but is a chip. Does it look like this?

64 gb was the largest eMMC storage offered by HP on that model series so HP will not have an upgrade.

Hello Huffer.
The SK Hynix chip is exactly as your photograph. Thank you for your reply. It is annoying that 64GB is the largest, because even having emptied my Documents, Pictures, and Downloads folders, there is not enough room in 'storage' to install W10 updates !! Is it possible to put another type of SSD in the space set aside for an HDD in this casing? Alternatively, is there a smaller OS than the W10 "S" series OS?
I am considering Linux.
Thanks again for the info.

Not going to discourage Linux but I could not find any larger eMMC module that is the same size and shape. eMMC is not as standard as SSD. I suggest an SD card in the SD card slot and move the libraries (docs, downloads, pics, videos, etc) over to the SD card. 64 gigs on the bootdisk should be enough if you just keep the system on it. Use one of these to find out what's taking up space.

No on eMMC models there is no way to add a second internal storage drive.

Once again, thank you for your prompt reply. I had already removed all 'User' documents and programmes (applications) before I sought the help of this community. I use an USB 128GB for all these docs, etc. I will refer to the HOWTOGEEK website, as you suggest to see if there's something i had overlooked, but if the W10 -S OS is not the major issue, then it must be clutter. Do you suggest I DBAN the drive (emmc) and re-install W10-S? This is really getting me to think it's not worth hanging on to the unit; it is clearly more of a 'Netbook' than a laptop. I've also had arguments with Samsung on the same subject - and won !! I could sell the laptop (vowing never to buy HP again) and get about sixty pints of Real Ale at my local Pub. bycpete.

Hello Huffer. Thank you, I'll try a clean installation of the OS, but I am away soon to avoid Boris Johnson's broadcasts over C-Word, and will be back in New Year all being well, I won't close this window so I may be able to report Victory or Loss then. (I have renamed the Virus mutation, "OH Macron" ! )
Cheers, and good health.
