Hp Pavilion 17-ab306ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I bought the HP Pavilion 17-ab306ng from Amazon with a German layout keyboard.

I'm wondering if I could buy a US layout somewhere as a spare and just replace the keys between the keyboards.

I cannot find any part number anywhere for this laptop model, as I believe it's quite new.

Thanks for any support you might provide.

John

John,

Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05759407

Specs: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05836092

Your laptop comes with NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti

See Page 21 in the Manual

Keyboard comes as a whole assembly unit containing touchpad and top cover.

You need this part for US layout,

Top cover with keyboard and TouchPad,
Shadow Black (full-size standard 3-coat paint island-style, non-backlit, with numeric keypad), (for models with N17P-G0 and N17P-G1 only) :
For use in the United States : L02743-001

I'm not getting it through HP part store, wierd.

You may search the HP part number in Google or through online sellers.

Thx REO & Visruth!

I actually want to just get the keyboard and pick the key caps from both and just replace. No need to strip the notebook and replace the keyboard assembly with the top cover.

@bloob

There are many different key mounts.

You would need to be lucky to get a match the first time.

Good luck.
