Hi.

In systems it's shown as "Texas Instruments 3.0 xHCI Host Controller.
Units has stopped problem reported (code 43)
Driver:
Date 2015-07-17

Hi @Sebbe1,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues with the USB 3.0 port not working after the recent upgrade. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you tried to update the Bios and Chipset drivers on your PC?
Have you tried to update the drivers using Windows update or using HP Support Assistant?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:
Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the Bios and Chipset dirvers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.
Once done, restart the computer and check if that helps.
Alternatively you can try to run a test on the USB port from F2 which is under component test (Please capture the failure ID for further assistance).
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to roll back the drivers
-
Click Start, enter device manager into the search field, and then click Device Manager from the results.
-
In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the list.
-
Right-click Texas Instruments XHCI Controller and then select Properties.
NOTE:
If Texas Instruments XHCI Controller is not listed, then this is not what is causing the problem with your USB Device. Stop here, and try another suggested solution in this document.

-
Click the Driver tab, and then click Roll back driver.
-
Click Yes on the confirmation window to go back to the previous driver.
-
Click Close, and then restart your computer. The USB ports should work again.
Note: If the USB ports still do not work, the wires connecting the USB board to the motherboard USB pins might not be securely connected. The computer might need to be serviced to connect the USB board wires to the motherboard connectors.
