Hi guys,
I have a dv7-6c95dx with Win10, and ports 3.0 stop working after internal battery was removed, before that it was working fine with same OS, previosuly i have installed win 7,8 and 10 and with all used to work good, until now that battery was removed (first time removed).
Ports give power (charge cell) but does not detect anything. In device manager any controller related to 3.0 is displayed and nothing as Unknown device. I have installed Renesas usb controller but no success and Renesas utility displays "USB host 3.0 controller not found".
Bios is InsydeH20 F.1C and the chipset is an Intel 6 series.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
If the issue persists please follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03327635

I have tried many solutions found in forums but nothin works. I have tried:
- HP assistant
- Change power settings for USB
- Change C-State in BIOS and power management.
- Reinstall driver, but never appear in Device manager.
- Windows up to date.
To this point, it seems i have to say bye to the usb ports.
