Envy 13 X360

Dear all,

I know this is very common question in this forum, but I couldn't found any clear information regarding this.

I just purchased Envy 13 X360 with model number 13-ay0006au, in the specification it states USB-C PD, but don't know which version, someone said it used to be PD 3.0.

My questions:

1. Is it working with USB C charger 65W with PD 3.0 specification?

2. I have very old USB-C Charger from HP with model numberL04540-002, the output specification is similar with other PD 3.0 65W Charger on the market, but I could not find any documentation on HP website regarding to this part number, is it support PD 3.0 or not.

FYI, I did try charging the laptop using MacBook 12 (2016) charger, I believe it still PD 2.0, it charges during sleep, but when I turn it on, it won't charge.

Thanks,

Rgds

Finally, the HP charger with model no L04540-002 just coming, I ordered online, I assume this is ex "very old" Spectre X360 charger I believe since I could not find any documents in HP website regarding to this type. It is very small, smaller than equipped one with the notebook.

The output voltage and ampere is similar with other PD 3.0 Charger with 65W in the market.

Be careful, HP USB-C  65W charger has 2 type output, one is compatible with PD 3.0 65W which is 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15/3A. and 20V/3.25A, it should be able to charge many devices which compatible with PD 3.0.

The other version of HP USB-C Charger with 65W, it does have 10V output, this type of voltage number is not mentioned in PD 3.0 specifications. But I don't know if it work or not.

I test plug it and it is working well. It can charge during the notebook running and very fast, less then 2 minutes I got from 88% to 91%.

I am still waiting after market PD 3.0 Charger with Galium Nitrat chip which is much smaller to be shipped. I will post a review once the charger come.

I hope this information help other who looking for the same problem.

@ACMahendra

That indicates the charger does not have enough power (wattage) to charge and run machine at the same time. The specs of your machine is

                 https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06714098

It requires a 65W charger. Let me tell you an example : just say battery is a 10L bucket, it has a hole which will drain water of full bucket in 5hours, now you pour water in 1L each hour. You can work out why the charger can't charge battery on your machine when machine is running.

Now back to your situation, I believe the following adapter should work

I'm ordering the following charger for my HP 840 G5, hope I can use it for my Envy x360 15-ee0xxx machine

This is the example of the charger that has 10V output that I did mention in the above post. If this charger can communicate with PD protocol it should be fine, but if it isn't then consider avoid it.

Adaptable voltage

Depending on what your device needs, it delivers 5V, 9V, 10V, 12V, 15V, or 20V of power.
