I am interested in charging from my USB-C port, since I now have a 20,000 mah power bank. I understand that not all USB-C ports are capable of charging. My laptop is ENVY x360 - m6-ar004dx. product number W2K56UA. Is this possible, does it need a driver update, or is the motherboard just not capable?

Your machine has the following ports
1 USB 3.0 (Type-C); 2 USB 3.0 (1 HP USB Boost); 1 HDMI; 1 headphone/microphone combo
Its specs

You need USB-C port which sopports PD (Pwer Delivery) to be able to charge and you machine does not have this type of port. In short: No you can't.
Regards.

As my test, it supports PD chargers or PD powerbanks with 20V output. For PD chargers, 45W and 65W work well but 30W fails, however, my 30W output ravpower powerbank is compatible, as well as the other 65W one. Thus, I recommend a PD Charger with 20V and more than 45W output.
Additionally, some chargers on market are multi compatibility including PD, PPS and QC ect., these may course unexpected problems as my test so I prefer the PD only.
