Elite X2 1012 G2

I purchased the USB-C Dock (Y0K80AA), which was offered as an accessory during the purchase checkout for my HP Elite X2 1012 G2 convertible notebook (Y5E19AV).  I have setup the X2 and installed all available drivers from SoftPaq download manager, and all Win 10 updates available, however the X2 will not recognize the dock when connected via USB-C.  I can connect the dock using the USB-C to A adapter, at which point it is recognized as a removable storage, however it still does not provide video output or network connectivity via the dock.  I also installed the driver package that was on the removable storage in the dock, but still no connection via USB-C.  I've tried power cycling the dock and X2 multiple times.

 

I think this dock is either defective, not compatible with the X2, or my X2's USB-C port is defective (although it powers the X2 fine with the included USB-C AC adapter).

 

Please advise.

I am having the same problem with a new 1012 x2G2.  I've made sure it has the latest BIOS and firmware, tried updating other drivers, used the HP Support assistant to check for updates...nothing.  We've even tried 2 different docks.  The funny thing is, one dock was working last week, then when we got the dock purchased to go with this computer, neither works.  What changed since last week? I'm not sure what else to try at this point.

I gave up and returned the Elite USB C dock and got the thunderbolt 3 dock instead. Everything works fine on the TB3 dock, so it must be incompatible with the x2.

I believe the problem is with the new 1012 x2 G2 not working with the USB-C dock p/n# X7W54AA. The device referenced earlier is in a different office. I just received more of those docks here, so I connected a different (new) 1012 G2 I have to that dock and it’s not working either. It works fine with my old T3V74AA dock. I connected my x360 to the new dock and it installed right away and works fine, so I know the dock is good.  I have a support case submitted.
