HP EliteBook 845 14 inch G9 Notebook PC (544L8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Dear Community,

i've bought an USB-C hub to have LAN and card reader on my Elitebook 845 G9.

https://gembird.com/item.aspx?id=12074

It has a USB 3.0/3.1 Type-C input and needs about 0.5A current when working.

When i connect it to any of the 2 USB-C ports, the hub is disconnecting repeatedly after 3 seconds and loses the power from the USB port (power led turns off and a USB power meter showed that the power was off)

Other devices are working with the USB-C port, it can charge my phone with 1.88A current and file transfer works too.

I've tried the hub with a Lenovo Legion 5 and works stable with any USB-C ports. Even with a USB power meter connected to it.

The Elitebook is 1 weeks old, so the OS (Win 11), all drivers and BIOS are up to date.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks

The hub isn't exactly a top tier product.

It may be a compatibility problem.

I suggest using a hub that is marketed by HP as being compatible with your Elitebook 845 G9.

From what you have described, your Elitebook 845 G9 is working as expected otherwise.
