I would like be able to charge my laptop by USB C port.  I need help with the specifications for a charging device.  What HP products if any are suitable?  What other options?  Any help appreciated.

Hi,

To charge the notebook through USB-C port you will need USB-C charger (65W)

Ex:

https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-usb-c-travel-power-adapter-65w

Those models need loads of power and a 135W ac adapter is included with the machine,  i think is the better choice for charging.

Hope it helps,

David

I have the HP 13" envy 360,  I also wanted to do the same because i did not want to carry a bulky charger when i travel. I bought a 87w 20v usb-c  generic charger with usb-c to usb-c cable off "Ali Express" for less than £17. It charged it up to 100% and no smoke came out so that is a good sign eh! .....  It also has a usb 3 port so when travelling I can charge both phone and laptop together. Just got to get a flight post Corvid 19.
