My USB-C port got a failure message.

FAILURE ID: GTW26C-8T6A35-MFGGRF-8D4W03

PRODUCT ID: 1KT13UA#ABA

My port had issues earlier, but started working again. However, it stopped once more and now it is giving me the above error message.

Is it definitely a hardware issue?

Thanks.

Hello @stevenreitz,

It might not be a hardware issue.

Please try a power reset:

  1. Turn off the laptop
  2. Remove any external accessories
  3. Unplug the power cord
  4. Remove the battery (only if it is external and removable)
  5. Hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds
  6. Reinsert the battery if it was removed
  7. Plugin the power source
  8. Attempt to turn on the device

What were you connecting to the USB-C port?

Kind regards,

Eddy

Thanks for the reply, @EddyK.

The power reset is how I got it to start back up in the first place. Unfortunately, I just tried again and it didn't work.

I have been plugging in monitors into each of my USB-C ports and it was working great. However, I bought a dual HDMI to USB-C adapter and it threw everything for a loop. I thought it just needed some driver updates, so I tried again and it has stopped working. I tried to uninstall some drivers and stuff.

Unfortunately, I am still having this issue. I have tried the power reset, and it worked at first. Does this mean it is definitely a hardware issue?

Thanks!

Steve
