Hi,
I'm having an issue with the USB C Port on my HP ENVY x360 - 15-cn0008na. This issue has been going on for sometime now.
Everytime I boot the computer (from shutdown or hibernation) I have to press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, which apparently resets the Embedded Controller on the BIOS. If I don't do this, then the USB C port will not work. It seems as if the BIOS is forgetting to switch on this hardware item when it boots.
On the BIOS it is possible to change the USB port settings so that the ports are powered when the laptop is off, and this seems to solve the issue. The problem there is that I use external hard drives quite a lot, so I would have to keep plugging and unplugging these when I power down the laptop which creates hassle.
The BIOS update before the last one (current is sp101097) fixed the issue, but the new sp101097 has reverted the issue back to how it's always been.
Is there another way to get around this issue by changing setting within Windows? Or will HP need to issue a new update?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the USB C port is not working correctly.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you roll back to the BIOS to the previous version follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
