ProBook 430 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to set up my ProBook to use two external monitors, one via HDMI and one via USB-C.

HDMI monitor works fine. I bought an Alogic USB-C 3-in-1 adapter yesterday and plugged in second monitor via the DVI connector. All worked fine.

Today, the USB-C adapter is no longer working. Notifications are shows:

Display connection might be limited - Make sure the DisplayPort device you're connecting to is supported by your PC

and also

USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.

Device manager is showing:

Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)

I have tried updating Windows, uninstalling device, rebooting laptop etc. but it just won't work.

Do the other ports on the USB-C adapter work now? Other than the video port?

HP Recommended

No, I tried the HDMI adapter port with the monitor that worked directly with HDMI and that didn't work.

Tried hooking second monitor up via the VGA adapter port and that didn't work either..

Is there like a usb port on the adapter so you can try it? I suspect the device went kaput. If it worked for a time, then no longer works I suspect the adapter. Many are made very inexpensively and they range widely in reliability.

HP Recommended

No USB port.

I only bought the adapter yesterday...
