My laptop has USB-C port that is data port.
I have external USB enclosure (https://www.sabrent.com/product/EC-UK30/ultra-slim-usb-3-0-to-2-5-inch-sata-external-aluminum-hard-d...) with 1 TB 2.5" Seagate SSHD in it.
The enclosure uses USB-A male connection. I tried connecting USB-C cable to this enclosure, and it is not recognized. (I have used this USB cable with my phone to transfer data back and forth, so I know the cable is working. I tried a few different cables to no avail.)
I came across this troubleshooting guide, https://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/usb-device-not-recognized/ tried almost everything but still the issue is not resolved.
Does anyone have an idea what I can try to get it working?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: HDD is recognized and works perfectly when connected to USB-A port of the same laptop.
