HP ENVY Laptop 13-ba1000 (1F4E3AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am using HP Envy 13-ba1060ca.

The problem is USB-C port remains powered after the laptop is shut down.

A USB hub is connected to the USB-C port. And the USB hub consumes the laptop's battery continuously because the laptop delivers power to the USB-C port even the laptop is powered off.

I have checked the Windows power settings and confirmed that the following settings are configured to cut off the USB port's power completely when the system is powered off.

- Hibernate option is deactivated.

- 'Turn on fast startup’ option is deactivated.

- 'USB selective suspend setting' is deactivated.

Also, I have checked the BIOS settings, and it has been confirmed that 'USB charge' is disabled.

The weird thing is, while the laptop is powered off and the USB-C port stays powered on, when I disconnect the USB hub and reconnect it immediately, the USB hub goes power off.

If I enable the 'USB charge' in BIOS settings, the USB hub will be powered on again when I disconnect the USB hub and reconnect it immediately.

So I can say that the behavior of 'USB charge' in BIOS settings works.

The symptom is the same even if I enter into the BIOS setup and then turn the system off. (No Windows running at all)

Therefore I think that it is not related to Windows matters.

The BIOS firmware is the latest, and the Windows is up to date.

The symptom is the same even if I disconnect the AC power adaptor from the laptop.

I tested with three different USB hubs, and the symptom is the same.

This is why I think the root cause is in the laptop, not the USB hub.

Every function of the USB hub connected to the USB-C port works correctly.

As I described above, I have nothing to do more.

I would like to get an idea from experts. Thanks in advance.
