Hi I have just purchased an AOC  I1601 FWUX 15.6"   USB-C Display Monitor

to use as an additional monitor .  it is designed to carry power and video through the USB C port hence it has no other video ports .

when i plug it into my HP Pro Book 470 Laptop USB C port it says no signal on the screen of the AOC monitor ....does this USB C port on the HP ProBOOK 470 not transmit video ..only power ?

thanks in Advance

Best Regards

Will

470 G4 or G5? The G4 USB-C port is data only and the G5 is power delivery and Alt-DP so should drive the USB-C monitor if so.

Or get a docking station with USB-C or USB 3.1 connection and Displaylink technology and you can connect a monitor to it using an HDMI cable.

hi again would it not work if i purchased a USB-C  to USB 3 cable and connected the monitor to the laptop via USB -3 port

thanks will

If only. No. A USB 3.0 or 3.1 port does not natively put out a video signal. You need a device in the middle like a docking station that will translate USB signal to video.
