HP Envy x360 13" Ryzen 7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a 4 port USB hub trying to connect to the USB port of notebook, to use a seperate mouse and keyboard.  The hub has worked fine with old Sony laptop and an ASUS notebook.  However the mouse is not working correctly when connected liek this to the envy.  The mouse clicks responses are intermittent, often having to click several times to get a button, icon, link etc to work. Also when using scroll wheel on mouse, there is periodic delay in the reaction of the scrolling.

The mouse works ok if connected directly to the Envy.

Looked at mouse/usb settings.  Tried adjusting mouse button timing, checked drivers, tried a second friends USB hub, get the same effect. Just doesnt like a hub between mouse and Envy port.

Anyone had simiar experience or a fix?
