Envy 17T-n100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The right two USB ports have stopped working (years ago).  I ran the system component check at boot and received the following result ...

USB Port Check:  FAILED

Failure ID: 98AM4F-7TAALD-XD7WMA-8D1903
Product ID: M9X66AV

These ports do not show up in WIndows 10 Device Manager at all (like they don't exist).

Any suggestions?

@jibboo , welcome to the Community.

Here is a very thorough troubleshooting guide for the USB ports.  Read through it to see if it gives you any ideas on how to fix your problem.

that's a nice guide for normal wonky USB issues ... but I tried to describe clearly that this is a hardware issue in that Windows Device Manager doesn't recognize all of my ports.  The only possible one of those suggestions would be something is disconnected internally ... which would be fine if this was on my PC ... but taking this laptop is a pain in the butt (had to do it to upgrade hard drives).

The 2 ports on the left work fine, the 2 ports on the right do nothing.

The 2 left USB ports fail HPs hardware test which is what I posted originally.

If you have been inside of the case of your laptop in the past there is a possibility that you could have loosened the connections to the USB ports.  The two that don't work would be connected to a separate header from the ones that do work.
