The driver recommended in the above reply does not have driver support for the hardware ID you posted and will not work.

 

You need this driver.  It is good for both 32 and 64 bit operating systems.

 

Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver

There are only W7 or older drivers for the hardware ID you posted.

 

If you are running W10, then you will have to manually install the driver by going to the device manager, click on the USB\VID_138A&PID_0001 device needing the driver.

 

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

 

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

 

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp45050.

 

Make sure that the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

 

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted:
