My issue is that suddenly all my USB devices started randomly disconnecting and immediately connecting both my mouse and external SSD. I don't know what the problem is. I already did a lot of things to try to fix that but nothing works. I even reinstalled Windows 11 but problem still persist. It is starting annoying so much because I have a lot of data on external SSD and when it always disconnects that corrupt some of my data. I have Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598U8AV) laptop. What could it be? Windows 11 issue or hardware?
Also before I reinstalled Windows, my bluetooth adapter didnt't want to work. It also randomly disconnected and connecting, however problem seems to be fixed after reinstallation of Windows 11.

Hi @MasterofOak,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Random disconnections of USB devices can be caused by a variety of factors, including software conflicts, driver issues, or hardware problems. Since you've already reinstalled Windows 11 and the issue persists, it's less likely to be a software-related problem.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
- Update Drivers: Ensure that all your drivers are up to date, especially the ones related to USB and chipset drivers. You can typically find these updates on the manufacturer's website for your laptop model.
- Check Power Management Settings: Sometimes, power management settings can cause USB devices to disconnect. Go to Device Manager, right-click on your USB controllers, and uncheck the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under the Power Management tab.
- Use Different USB Ports: Try connecting your USB devices to different USB ports on your laptop to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, specific ports might be faulty.
- Test with Different Devices: If possible, test your USB devices on another computer to see if they exhibit the same behavior. This can help determine whether the issue lies with the laptop or the devices themselves.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the USB ports on your laptop for any physical damage or debris that may be causing poor connections.
- Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings: Resetting your laptop's BIOS or UEFI settings to default can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.
- Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware: Check if there are any updates available for your laptop's BIOS/UEFI firmware and install them if necessary.
- Check for Overheating: Overheating can sometimes cause hardware malfunctions. Ensure that your laptop is adequately cooled and not overheating during use.
- Check USB Cable: If you're using an external SSD, the issue could also be with the USB cable connecting it to your laptop. Try using a different USB cable to rule out cable issues.
Regarding the Bluetooth adapter issue, it's good to hear that it seems to be resolved after reinstalling Windows 11.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi,
Thanks for your response and for the recommendation but I did all of that before installing windows. Checked all windows/drives updates, checked power management in device manager everything but still issue is occurring.
However, one strange thing is I have one USB 3.1 and USB-C on right side of laptop and its ports a randomly disconnected, doesn't matter what device it is, either mouse or usb flash drive or external ssd. But single USB 3.1 on left side is working properly using any devices. So problem with right ones. Furthermore, I have Ubuntu installation on my external ssd and if boot to it from "faulty" usbs they work completely fine even on load. Thing is Ubuntu tells on boot that it "Can't enumerate USB" they still work fine on Linux.
I don't know, is that bad driver on Window or what else could it be?
One problem more, my Bluetooth also randomly disconnecting and immediately connecting, which is not an issue on Ubuntu. But probably answer is because it is on the same bus with right USBs.
Very strange problem I should say. And it wasn't an issue like a week ago it just come up all of a sudden.
Maybe I should do a clean installation of Windows not using "Reset PC" option in Windows? Because it looks like a driver issue or don't know why it works on Linux/Ubuntu.
