Hi @AmanDhami,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the USB ports on your HP Chromebook x360 14 inch are not working, it can be quite frustrating as USB ports are essential for connecting various peripherals and devices. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check the USB Device: Ensure that the USB device you are trying to connect is functional. Try using it on another computer to make sure it's not the device that's causing the problem.

Restart Your Chromebook: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve USB issues. Save your work, shut down your Chromebook, wait for a few seconds, and then power it back on.

Inspect the USB Ports: Visually inspect the USB ports for any physical damage, debris, or foreign objects that might be blocking the connection. If you find any debris or foreign objects, gently clean the ports using compressed air.

Try a Different USB Port: If one USB port is not working, try the other USB ports on your Chromebook. This will help determine if the issue is specific to one port or affects all of them.

Check for Updates: Make sure your Chromebook's operating system and firmware are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause hardware issues. To check for updates, go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.

Powerwash: A powerwash is essentially a factory reset for Chromebooks. It can help resolve software-related issues. Before doing this, make sure to back up your important data as it will erase all data on the Chromebook.

a. Go to Settings.

b. Scroll down and click on "Advanced."

c. Under the "Reset Settings" section, select "Powerwash."

d. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your Chromebook.

Check for Driver Issues: Chromebooks generally don't require driver installations, but there could be compatibility issues. Check if your USB device requires any specific drivers or updates and install them if necessary.

Guest Mode: Log in to the Guest account on your Chromebook and try using the USB ports. This can help determine if the issue is related to your user profile.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
