Both USB-C ports work for power delivery but they stopped working for data transmission, while connected to the dock. Diagnostic test for USB ports failed and Thunderbolt test failed, too. The Failure ID is 6APTTQ-8L0A2C-MFPUQ1-8D7V03 for the USB port test and 6APTTQ-8L0A2C-MFPUQ1-8GR003 for the Thunderbolt test.

I suppose the hardware failure. Any clue, what exactly can be wrong? Where can I look up the failure code meaning?

I checked the failure ID you have shared and it looks like a hardware issue. I recommend you contact support and check the available service options for your computer.

 

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

 

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
