Installed a new SP04XL battery, HPPN L28764-005 like. Charges fine. But after testing is says that the battery needs to be calibrated. Specifically
Battery Check: Primary - Calibration Required (20)
Primary: Logic State - Calibration Required (20), Charge State - Not Available
Battery Calibration : Complete
Then no matter what I do and how many calibration or manual discharge/recharge cycles, it still says Calibration required. I'd tried several batteries and still the same result. There are similar, older posts here and I've tried all of the things mentioned in those and elsewhere on the net. Nothing works. Tried the HP Diagnostics from WIndows, UEFI diag, etc. BIOS and all drivers are up to date.
Is this a defect of the HP Calibration application? Or is the battery at fault because it's from a 3rd party vendor. BTW - you cannot by this battery from HP directly, they don't sell them.
