Erico - I am aware of the process on how to configure Windows Hello. i am looking more from HW side to know if my model supports Windows Hello as i am unable to configure my face when my camera shows as IR camera on device manager.

Your HP EliteBook 840 G7 notebook PC has ProdID 38C86PA

The webcam is L75399-9Q1 The specifications are CAM,IR,720pHD,USB2,1pc,Fixed,DualMic

I would expect that the issue you are having is because the camera is one of low resolution at 720 pixels at HD resolution.

You have not specified at which step in the Windows Hello enrollment application you have run into an issue.

Without giving  the specific problem or place in the process, how can you expect assistance? We would like to help.

"Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. If you don't see Windows Hello in Sign-in options, then it may not be available for your device"

When I start to configure windows Hello, the rectangle box doesn’t come up to read my face. In one of the case the box appeared and got message as setup is successful but login is not possible face. I raise case with HP and one of the engineers says this model do not support Windows Hello but I can see it can support on Sign-in options.

please help me to know if this model supports Face recognition or not. If it’s supports then why it’s not working.

That does not mean that it will work. The HP Service Engineer already gave you the answer. Accept it.

Your laptop is not compatible with Windows Hello.

The next laptop you purchase, make sure that it has a more capable IR camera and is at least 1080p UHD.

Just because you don't like an answer does not make it any less true.

The HP Support Engineer was speaking from a base of knowledge.
