Hi,

Prompted on 26/1 to use HP Support Assistant to download sp90277 (which is an old sp I think). This failed, but not before I'd deleted the old BT version. I then downloaded sp100382 (v 21.50.0.1) from the HP web site which I had installed ok on 20/1. This stated that it had installed, but it hadn't. BT Version 20.100.6.3 had been installed by Windows and remained there after a restart. Is sp100382 being placed in the wrong directory (It was in C:\SWSetup\SP100382\DCHU\install.cmd.)

Any ideas what is going on please?

Thanks,

PK5601

Hi:

I always use the drivers directly from Intel.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29264/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Windows-10?product=8645...

You need to know what model wifi adapter your PC has, and what version Bluetooth driver will be installed by the latest driver for that model adapter.

If you look at the release notes for the Bluetooth driver, you will see the following information...

Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® Package version = 21.60.0

Driver version 21.60.0.4: For Windows® 10 using AX201, AX200, 9560, 9462, 9461, 9260, 8260, 18260, 8265, 18265

Driver version 20.100.6.4: For Windows® 10 using 3168, 3165, 7265, 17265

So, I am assuming your PC does not have one of the Intel wifi cards supported by the 21.60.0.4. driver, rather one of those supported by driver version 20.100.6.4.

Thanks Paul.

From your reply, it would seem like I have the correct BT driver installed for my wi-fi model adapter, so thank you.

What I don't understand is why sp100382 appeared to install correctly last week, when it was v 21.50.0.1 and not the correct driver for my adapter?

Kind Regards,

PK.

You're very welcome.

The driver installed properly because it also contains the 20.100.6.3 driver file.

It's a one size fits all driver.

It installs whatever driver that is applicable for the detected wifi adapter.
