Those depends a lot, I for example have a Zbook power G7 that should go to 3200 but only when it is in single channel, when I put a second memory ty goes double channel down to 2666, that is configured in the BIOS in this way. Then of course there are memories that do not have all the JEDEC and maybe they can not lower the frequency or the JEDEC conflicts with the other memory and lower the frequency even if the JEDEC works for all the memories.

Right, thanks for the explanation.
Honestly, this keeps getting weirder and weirder...
So you buy a $3000+ workstation that boasts it will run it's memory at 5600MHz, but it doesn't right out of the factory.
Then when you expand it's RAM it will start to run even slower. I kind of expect HP to deliver upon it's claims, especially if I pay big bucks for it.
