HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ee0002na

The hinge to my laptop broke a while ago. I have since discovered that this is an incredibly common issue. So common that a class-action lawsuit was proposed against HP accusing them of knowingly using poor quality materials in the hinges and misleading consumers.

My hinge broke after my warranty ended, which only lasted 1 year after purchase. After contacting official HP support, the only option I was given was to pay over £300 to repair it, nearly half the cost of the laptop. They would also generously give 3 extra months of warranty. I was frankly insulted by this pathetic offer in response to a ridiculous hardware problem, so turned to third party repair shops. Each of the places I visited offered to fix it for a much lower price, around £100. However, none of them were able to source a replacement part for the monitor, so my hinge is still broken.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a laptop. Even if the hinge was perfectly functional, I still encounter many software problems which I have never seen on another device. At the current state of affairs, I will do everything in my power to make sure that nobody I know ever buys a HP laptop, because this company has lost all credibility to me, and I will never trust any product they make ever again.
