I am unable to complete a Windows 10 upgrade, as I am instructed that "HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK - BIOS NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED before you can upgrade to Windows 10...... I am later asked to uninstall the app.

@Lacey1212

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you are unable to upgrade to Windows 10 due to the message to update the BIOS,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you updated the BIOS using the HP website?

(Click here to find and install the latest version of BIOS, if you haven't tried it yet).

The recent update from the HP website should fix the issue.

Let me know how that pans out

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask any other queries as  well,

Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

I have the same problem. I tried to update the BIOS but got stuck at step 3 because the serial or product number of my computer did not yield any results. The site only said"No software or drivers are available for this product with the selected operating system". What should I do now?

This has been driving me nuts for a couple days now and I think I finally figured it out.  Did you go to the HP Drivers page?  https://support.hp.com/ca-en/drivers  I just put Pavillion and the product number.  Then I scrolled down to install manually.  I clicked on BIOS and downloaded it and it did it's thing and now it looks like it's working.

That site seems to work. I've now installed the BIOS, and the Windows 10 update just finished (after full two hours). Hope that's the end of it.

Windows 10 keeps tellling me to uninstall HP Pavilion Notebook-BIOS before it can do security updates.  What should I do to correct this?

I hope that helps.

having danced to the tune and found all the microscopic details hidden in my HP G72-b15SA Notebook PC I get the message

"No software or drivers are available for this product with the selected operating system. Please make a different selection, or visit the product homepage."

This after countless attempts at installing windows updates. Only the last Microsoft online assistant was able to tell me it was an out of date BIOS problem. AND now the HP bricks wall.

I'm getting this same message, however when I try to install updated BIOS from HP Support ASsistant, it says no updates are available.  NOw what do I do?

Hi @SLK23

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the BIOS update.

Please try these steps to re-install the HP Support Assistant -

1) In the search box, type and open "Apps & Features".

2) Look for HP Support Assistant.

3) Click on it to uninstall.

4) Restart the computer.

5) Install the HP Support Assistant from this link

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
