I have the same exact issue another HP Omen user posted regarding using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI – v10.8.1.0. The tool loads to 80 percent then reboots. I have tried all the suggestions from hard reset to boot from USB stick and have had no success. This prevents me from calibrating my battery. The UFEI diagnostics used to work but the new version will not load past 80 percent

@TiogaRoad, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Power drain
• Shut down the laptop.
• Disconnect the charger.
• Hold the power button for 20–25 seconds to clear stray power.
• Restart and try entering UEFI Diagnostics again.
Disable Fast Boot in BIOS
• Restart and enter BIOS.
• Turn off Fast Boot.
• Save and exit, then try Diagnostics again.
Load BIOS Setup Defaults
• Go into BIOS.
• Select Restore Defaults / Load Setup Defaults.
• Save and reboot.
• Try running the UEFI tool again.
Reinstall the previous UEFI Diagnostics version
• Create a new USB UEFI Diagnostics stick using the older version, not 10.8.1.0.
• Boot from that USB device directly.
• Run the diagnostics again.
Re-flash the current BIOS version
• Reinstall the same BIOS version you’re currently on.
• Restart and try Diagnostics again.
I hope this helps.
