Your support is so-so. You don't know anything. Here's a link to the HP ftp server with the latest HPS4NFAV firmware for this SSD. You should be [edited] https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp136001-136500/sp136220.exe

The bundled SSD drive in the HP Laptop 17-cp0010ds (601T0UAR) has an extremely low write speed. Some programs, such as those used for listening to music through the ASIO interface, experience serious problems due to this drive (interruptions, shaking, serious dependencies, and slowdowns). This is an OEM SSD drive, and Samsung does not directly provide firmware updates for it. HP, as the customer of this OEM ssd, does not request firmware updates from Samsung. What should HP laptop users do?

Hi @Turker1
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That sounds incredibly frustrating—especially when performance issues creep into something as immersive as music production. You deserve a smoother experience, and I’m here to help you explore a few practical paths forward.
First, Confirm the Bottleneck
- Run a UEFI diagnostic on the SSD by pressing F2 at startup. This checks for hardware faults outside the operating system.
HP Support Assistant: Ensure that the HP Support Assistant software is up to date on your laptop. This tool can check for firmware updates and optimize system performance. You can find it pre-installed on most HP laptops or download it from the HP website.
Firmware Updates: While Samsung may not provide updates for OEM SSDs directly, HP might provide firmware updates that could improve performance. Check the HP Support site for any available updates or patches specifically for your model.
System Optimization: Make sure that your system settings are optimized for SSD performance. This includes disabling any unnecessary background apps that might be using disk resources and ensuring your system is running efficiently.

ll of the above has been tried, but it didn't work. This is not the first time that users of Samsung PM991A series SSDs in HP laptops have reported issues with catastrophic speed drops, but you still recommend flea treatments.

I constantly visit these support pages for my laptop, install BIOS updates, drivers, and hope to see an update for the SSD. However, it seems that nothing will ever be resolved with the SSD. Should I just throw it away and forget about it?

@Turker1, Thanks for reaching out! Since the issue remains unresolved, I suggest you reach out to the nearest HP Authorised service center for personalized assistance. They can provide one-on-one help to fix the problem.
Note: There might be a nominal charge for the service they provide.
