Hi,
Bought this laptop 25th Jan, Arrived 28th Jan. I chose an SSD expecting it to be quiet but it's unbearablely loud.
The fan is whistling at high pitch and volume almost continiously . It is not acceptable in a quiet room. I have it running in my study room and you can hear the fan from the hallway downstairs.
When the fan spins down you can hear it going off balance and 'wobbling' before it stops.
I searched the internet and found there is a history of this problem as listed on your support forum.
It can't be normal. There must be a fault. I would therefore like the unit to be replaced, and if the replacement is the same, i.e noisy by design, then I would like a refund.
Regards,
Bill.

The SSD has nothing whatsoever to do with any noise -- it is a collection of chips on a circuit board -- and it makes no sound at all!

Hi,
Yes, I'm aware what SSD is. I am a retired electronics engineer with 40 years experience. It replaces the HDD which is a potential source of noise.
Unfortunately, my family have banned the laptop from the room because of the noise it makes, so it's virtually useless to me. I will be returning it.
Thanks,
Bill
