HP Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Find below are the required details
1. Product name : HP Pavilion Notebook and Product number : 4MM60EA

2. Operating System installed (if applicable): Windows 10 64-bit

3. Error message: The Smart ACAdapter connected will power your computer, but potentially at a reduced performance level. It went on to say , please connect a higher capacity Smart AC Adapter for full performance.

4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred: Nil, smart adapter notice appeared on first start up.

I have read the read the thread on https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/quot-Please-connect-a-higher-ca... and thought it nice to report same issue and I will prefer an outright replacement after due diligence has been done by HP.

@Agomuo

Your machine is an HP Pavilion 17-ab402nia. Unfortunately I can't find it full specs. But it uses one of the following chargers

  • 120 W PFC, S-3P, slim, 4.5 mm, (for N16-6X, NV 17P-G0, and NV 17P-G1 (KBL-U) only) part # 710415-001
  • 135 W PFC, S-3P, slim, 4.5 mm, (for NV 17P-G1 (CFL-H) only) part # L15534-001
  • 150 W PFC, S-3P, slim, 4.5 mm, (for products with 7th generation processors only) part # 776620-001
  • GNRC, 150 W PFC, slim, 4.5 mm, (for models with NV17P-G0 and N17P-G1 (KBL-H) only) part # 917649-850

Now please turn your charger up-side-down to see what is its part #. Is your machine still under warranty ?

Regards.
