HP ENVY 15
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello everyone!

I recently got given a HP laptop for a windows reinstalation, and I am uncertain of the hardware of the laptop, I've searched HP for the laptop but it's like it's non existant. I've downloaded the HP Support Assistant but that is of no help to me. I've tried to speak to a human, but no luck because I can only speak to the Virtual support, and there is no email that I can mail for help.

The laptop in question is a 15 inch ENVY with an i7 5500u, 8GB ram, an SSD(Probbably not factory), and seemingly only integrated graphics, device manager doesn't show any other graphics adapter, even if I set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 in cmd and run devmgr and show hidden items.

Is this hardware factoy or is something messed up? Other than this I didn't find any drivers, so I did my best to search hardware id's and manually install everything in devmgr, and as of now I don't have any unknown devices in devmgr, but I didn't find any laptop with this serial number or part number on the web, so I'm curious if this actually has any dedicated graphics or not.

P/N: ABW5001#ABA

S/N: can't post because it get's removed

Hi,

Try inserting the serial number directly into HP part surfer and see if it gives you the model number :

http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

You can also insert the serial number into product search

https://support.hp.com/us-en/products/

There should also be a model number on the notebook and other ways to find model or product number:

https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c00033108

Hope it helps,

David

Yep! I have tried to seartch both the P/N and the S/N but no luck, while installing hp support assistant I got no errors, and it recognised the s/n and the p/n but it wouldn't show me any drivers, software or hardware..
