HP Envy X360 15-cn1000na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello There,

I purchased an HP Envy X360 15-cn1000na for my Girlfriends Christmas last November.

We've been having issues with the track pad since purchasing.

Randomly when using a left click or tap in the area set for left clicks it will pull up the right click menus. After this happens there is no

way to click off this menu as any further clicks will pull up another menu. I have adjusted the right click area in synaptics to only the bottom right corner but still this problem arises.

A second problem we have is sometimes the track pad will just not register left click at all on programmes , for example internet explorer and excel.

A third problem is we can't click on a scroll bar and drag to a certain point in programmes.

Fourth issue is that sometimes the mouse will randomly flip out and fire all over the screen clicking on things for a few minutes before finally stopping and working again.

I have checked and installed all updates for windows, synaptics and also the latest drivers for the laptop from the HP support page. Still the issues arise. The laptop works perfectly when just using the touch screen the problems only arise when you use the track pad.

Hope someone could help me soon.

Kind Regards,

Iain Anderson

Welcome to HP Support Community

Please update / reinstall the Touchpad driver from Device Manager

- Select the Start  button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
- Look for Mice and other pointing devices and expand the List
- Look for Touchpad driver then right-click it, and select Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click the Touchpad driver and select Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Also update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

If the issue persists, run a Touchpad test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Touchpad

Keep me posted how it goes 😊
