HP Pavilion - 14-ce0501sa
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Pavilion - 14-ce0501sa / 3ZU95EA, which currently has a single DIM of 8GB DDR4-2400. I would like to upgrade this but am stuggling to find out the maximum size and speed of RAM i can use in this laptop.

I know that Crucial's website is normally quite good at telling you what you can put in your laptop/PC however when i tried their tool this afternoon it keeps crashing and when i tried to manually select this model, it isnt listed.

I know i can get a single DIM of 16GB DDR4-2400 from Amazon for about £50, however i think that is at the slower end of the DDR4 speeds, so i would ideall like a faster one and potentially 32GB rather than 16GB (depending on cost of course). I would like to know the fastest speed this laptop can take and the maximum size. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

Hi:

Crucial indicates that your PC has one memory slot, and the slot supports a max of 16 GB.

So does chapter 1 of your notebook's service manual.

Your notebook's i5-8250U processor can only run the memory at a max speed of 2400 MHz.

Intel® Core™ i5-8250U Processor

DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3200 memory will work fine, but only at 2400 MHz.

Do not buy performance or gaming memory.

It has faster timings and may not work because your notebook uses memory with the standard timings for the speed.

In other words, if you want to buy Crucial memory, buy the memory with the green circuit board.
