Spectre x360 13-4040nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does anyone know how to update the TPM on HP Spectre x360 13-4040nd?

It seems there is no update available from HP: see https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05792935

Device Manager shows Trusted Platform Module 1.2.

I found a more recent version of the HP TM Configuration Utility at https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c05381064

However, running this utility leads to the error message that my device is not supported.

My TPM version is 4.40. It seems that sp82133.exe from https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05792935 will be the proper update utility. Problem is that I need to take ownership first. Not sure how to that.

I have cleared TPM using Microsoft tpm.msc. I can't find a way to set the owner's password or to initialize TPM. I am running Windows 10 64bit version 1803.

Managed to update TPM to 4.43 using sp82133.exe.

First had to set registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\TPM\OSManagedAuthLevel from 2 (Delegated) to 4 (Full).

Remaining question should and can the TPM be updated to 2.0? SLB9660 module in Spectre x360 13-4040nd seems not be able to switch to 2.0.

I have the same problem with my machine since upgrding to to v1803.

I get notification in Windows defender for a security problem.

updated my BIOS to the latest version - F.50 using sp86795.exe from https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05869091

At first I tried to clear/reset the TPM from the BIOS and it didn't work still got the same notification.

The I tried from Windows (my sequence marked in red) 0.png1.png2.png3.png

and it didn't solve the problem too...

Any suggestions ???

Thanks
