Touch Laptop I5
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I just purchased this laptop and was doing HP update. There was an update last night that said to be sure the laptop was plugged in during the update which it was/is. The screen went black and you can hear the computer doing something. Unfortunately the computer is still with the black screen making a slight low noise every so often. I have never had an HP product and do not understand why this is taking so long. Is this normal ?

@Nycstylecannoli,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • How did you do the update on the computer?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

While you respond to that, I recommend you hard shutdown the computer by pressing the power button for 5 seconds and then restart the computer and check whether the issue is resolved.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
