15-bs112ne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi;

I own a 15-bs112ne Laptop and on the Maintenance Guide part number  L25889-005 wifi adapter is listed as an AC wifi compatible replacement part:

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9461 802.11 AC 1x1 WiFi + BT5 Combo Adapter (non-vPro) (MU-MIMO supported)

I have purchased from the HP parts website to replace it, but when I installed it on my laptop it won't recognize it, I have updated my bios and downloaded the latest intel wifi drivers from the website.

Best Regards

Hi:

You can't use that wifi adapter in your model.

It is only for models that have a certain hardware setup that allows for the use of that card.

It's a strange configuration.  You can look up the details on the Intel website.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-ac-9461-brief.html

You need this one...which should work just fine...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) L17365-005

The only place I have been able to find this card is on eBay because the HP parts store has them on back order.

RTL8821CE is not even mentioned in the maintenance guide, I thought following guide should be fine

I agree that you did the right thing, but apparently that card can only be used as a replacement if the notebook originally came with that card.

The 8821CE will work in any notebook with an M.2 wifi slot.  It is not a CRF module like the Intel 9461 is.

All that 8821CE is, is the AC equivalent of the 8723DE card you removed

As I wrote previously...It is the only one that will work.

Thank You so much I have already ordered it next time I will ask here before ordering anything 😛

You're very welcome.

Please post back and let us know how your wifi card upgrade went with the 8821CE.

I don't see the latest drivers for it on your notebook's support page, so here they are...
